Fun Fall Activities in Tampa, FL

Published on September 13, 2022

Come celebrate fall in the Tampa Bay area—which, despite its subtropical climate, knows how to mark the season in style—with a getaway to Saddlebrook Resort! Our sprawling luxury resort in Wesley Chapel provides a fabulous springboard for taking in the many seasonal happenings around Greater Tampa, with plenty to do (as always) right here on our 480-acre grounds.

Here’s a quick survey of just a few of the fall events coming up on the Tampa calendar!

Tampa Oktoberfest

It’s the 12th annual running of Tampa’s biggest Oktoberfest party, which takes place downtown at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park from October 7th through the 9th. Enjoy ice-cold brewskies and other refreshments alongside plenty of music and dancing, not to mention a slew of delightful games free and open to all festivalgoers: from Stein Hoisting, Tug-o-War, and Keg Stacking to the Beard & Mustache and Mr. & Mrs. Oktoberfest competitions.

Tampa Oktoberfest will be underway from 4 to 11 PM on Friday, 11 AM to 11 PM on Saturday, and 11 AM to 6 PM on Sunday. Ample opportunity, in other words, to join in the merriment!

Rapranger Family Farm Fall Pumpkin Festival & Haunted Farm

The whole crew is sure to love Rapranger Family Farm’s annual Fall Pumpkin Festival & Haunted Farm, delighting young and old alike from mid-September through mid-November. Along with pumpkins and gourds of every description, you’ve got a petting zoo, pony rides, an 80-foot Bounce Pillow, axe-throwing, a corn pit, the Hay Chute Slide, and live entertainment to enjoy.

And then there’s the spooky stuff: the 5,000-square-foot Haunted Barn and 1,000-square-foot Haunted Maze, for example, plus the festival’s hayrides—carefree by day, but taking a creepier turn at night courtesy of a cemetery circuit.

St. Pete Pier Fall Festival

Beeline for the shores of Tampa Bay in St. Petersburg for this well-loved, family-friendly, and free fall bash, which takes place on Saturday, October 8th and Sunday, October 9th at Spa Beach Park and Family Park. There’ll be live music, children’s activities, and loads of eats and drinks on offer, plus the area’s only waterfront pumpkin patch, which stays open after the festival through Sunday, October 16th.

The Florida Railroad Museum’s Pumpkin Patch Express

All aboard the Pumpkin Patch Express! This trainride—running the last two weekends of October—brings you to the Florida Railroad Museum’s very own pumpkin patch, another perfect place to mark the season. Your Pumpkin Patch Express ticket also gives you access to the Pumpkin Patch’s various activities, including hayrides, games, and crafts. There’s an on-site food vendor as well.
